Did you know? Students who participate in Georgia Tech co-op programs and internships graduate at a higher rate than those who do not co-op, and also have higher GPAs.

Application Process

Program Eligibility
Georgia Tech graduate students are eligible to apply to Georgia Tech’s Division of Professional Practice (DoPP) Graduate Cooperative Education (Graduate Co-op) Program.  Students must have completed at least one academic semester of graduate study at Georgia Tech prior to beginning their graduate co-op work assignment.  Students receiving undergraduate degrees from Georgia Tech who have been admitted to a Georgia Tech graduate program may begin working during their first semester of graduate study.

SPRING 2010:  APPLYING FOR GRADUATE CO-OP/INTERNSHIPS

The Division of Professional Practice (DoPP) at Georgia Tech invites all graduate students to participate in experiential learning opportunities for spring semester 2010. Mandatory orientations are offered each semester and are necessary to activate you as a potential graduate co-op/intern student through DoPP. Students must provide a written offer letter and obtain a signed approval letter from their academic advisor authorizing them for full-time or part-time graduate co-op/internship. The deadline for spring semester approval letters and employer offer letters to be submitted to the Graduate Co-op Office is January 8, 2010.

Students approved for graduate co-op will receive a permit to enroll in a non-fee based audit course. You must register by close of registration on January 15, 2010. The course requires you to work a minimum of 16 weeks for the spring semester. Recommended work dates are January 11 – May 14, 2010.

For F-1 students, job offer letters MUST provide five (5) business days for students to receive I-20 forms from the Office of International Education.  F-1 students may not start their work assignments prior to receiving the I-20 form.  All students requiring Curricular Practical Training (CPT) can work part-time (20 hours or less) or full-time (more than 20 hours).

Any questions regarding graduate co-op opportunities may be directed to Ken Little or Patricia Bazrod at 404-894-3320 or via email:  gradco-op@dopp.gatech.edu.
